 Muni-Ball® Plugs work in all types of pipe- sealing the roughest surfaces.
Made of natural rubber, these plugs are durable and corrosion resistant. Muni-Ball plugs have a threaded aluminium by-pass. The by-pass allows air to pass through the plug during an air test, and can also be used to bypass liquids.
Cherne's Muni-Ball plugs are one of the most versatile pipe plugs on the market today. They allow sewer flow to pass through the plug via a pump hose, easily convert to an air test plug, or be used to block sewer flow. Muni-Ball plugs 150mm and larger come equipped with an eyebolt for tethering, raising and lowering while using a polylift line; these Muni-Ball plugs also come equipped with a removable tyre inflation valve, allowing athem to be repaired or replaced with quick disconnect fittings.
The design of Multi Size Muni-Ball® Plugs allows one plug to fit several pipe diameters.
Conversion kits are available to equip these plugs for the sewer air testing. An accessory kit also allows conversion of thes plugs to be used as a REMO® remote placement plug. |

Cherne’s original and most economical plug has become the worlds most popular pneumatic plug. Test-Ball plugs are designed to block sewer flow or to be used as a back plug for sewer air testing. These plugs are made of Natural Rubber and will work in virtually any type of pipe, allowing greater flexibility than mechanical plugs because they will seal round and out-of-round pipe. Test-ball plugs up to 150mm have an attached zinc-plated steel chain and ring handle. The handke may be used to carry the plug or act as an anchor to prevent the plug from sliding down the line. Test-Ball pugs from 200mm and larger are designed with a removable inflation valve and come equipped with an eyebolt that can be used for tethering, raising and lowering the plug when using a poly lift line. |

Multi-Size Test-Ball® Plugs allow one size to fit multiple pipe diameters this allows one Test Ball to do the job of two or more single size plugs.
Multi Size plugs have the trademarked rib design of the original Test Ball, with an added advantage of sealing different pipe diameters.  REMO® Remote Placement Plug provides two advantages—it eliminates the need to enter confined spaces and speeds up the pipe plugging process.
This system is safer and less expensive to use than conventional plugging methods because it requires no confined space equipment to simply block sewer flow.
The plug can be inflated and deflated by attaching a poly lift line or dual poly lift line. An Aluminum pole system or standard 25.4mm iron pipe is used for placement of the Remo Remote plug into the sewer line.
The Remo system allows for easy positioning, inflation, and removal of the plug from the surface. The plug has a hinged elbow which can be fixed allowing the plug to be locked at a 90 degree angle to the pole. With the fixed position you are able to slip the plug into a drop manhole with ease. With the hinged elbow you can ease the plug into a sewer line with little effort.
Also available are the Muni-Ball adapters which allow any Muni-Ball up to 450mm to be converted into a Remo Plug.

One of the major benefits of the T-Handle Gripper Mechanical Plugs over pneumatic plugs is that mechanical plugs can be used in long term applications.
Unlike pneumatic plugs which can loose air pressure over time, mechanical plugs do not use air pressure resulting in a more secure seal.
They are made of heavy-duty corrosion resistant aluminum plates to ensure a long life, and their neoprene O ring provides chemical resistance to petroleum hydrocarbons.
Sizes 150mm to 300mm T-Handle Grippers can be used in concrete, vitrified clay and plastic pipe. Sizes 380mm & 460mm are sized for concrete and clay pipe only.

Gripper® Plugs are Cherne’s easiest to use mechanical plug due to an extra large wing nut combined with the rubber O ring. Two styles of Grippers are offered, the End of Pipe (seals only at the end of a pipe) and Inside of Pipe (seals as far into the pipe as needed).
The Gripper Plugs are economical, Dependable, and are easy to use. They all have a twist to seal wing nut operation. The Gripper Plugs are made from high impact ABS plastic plates and natural rubber O ring, all connected by a rust resistant zinc plated steel carriage bolt and non rusting zinc alloy wing nut.
Gripper Plugs can be used as temporary or permanent pipe plugs. They are designed to work in a variety of pipe types.
Available to suit 40 mm to 200 mm diameter pipelines.

Large Single Size Test-Ball® & Muni-Ball® Plugs are lightweight and flexible, made of urethane which allows them to fit through small diameter openings.
Heavy duty elastic urethane fabric works in all types of pipe and is chemical and petroleum resistant.
Urethane plugs have full tethering capability and come equipped with a 10m inflation hose, pressure read-back line & gauge, ball valve and a crows foot air connection to allow for quick inflation. Urethane Muni-Balls have a by-pass hose for equalizing pressure, by-passing flow and can be used for sewer air testing.
Test-Balls available for 375mm to 1675mm diameter pipelines.
Muni-Balls available from 750mm to 1675mm diameter pipelines and conversion kits are available for Muni-Balls.

 The Heavy-Duty Factory Replaceable Sleeve Multi size Muni-Ball® plugs are made of natural rubber with Polyester-Reinforced cording for extra durability. They come equipped with aluminum castings, male by-pass connection, and ductile iron clamping rings.
While inserting and removing plugs, the ends can take abuse; the metal castings on the Factory Replaceable Muni-Ball® can increasing plug life.
The by-pass allows for continual flow through the plug and comes with a cast iron pipe cap. These plugs also are bendable to 90 degrees simply by removing the inflator valve.
The durable rubber sleeves are puncture resistant. If the plug does become damaged, you may send the plug to SECA’s factory to be repaired at a lower cost than purchasing a new plug.
Because of its durability, this pipe plug is ideal for frequent users or rental distributors. Neoprene sleeves available for hydrocarbons & high temperature applications.

Big Mouth® flow through plugs serve multiple applications from by-passing flow to sewer air testing. They come equipped with a removable 3/8” eyebolt for lifting and lowering while being used in conjunction with a poly-lift line. They also feature a single removable tyre valve allowing for easy repair or replacement with quick disconnect fittings.
The Big Mouth has a male NPT threaded by-pass that is fitted with a removable plastic cap. The threaded by-pass is easily adapted for use with a standard sewer hose with quick disconnect fittings.
Great plug for gravity by-passing or by-pass pumping.
The Big Mouth also has an optional cap style conversion kit that can be used for sewer air testing and allows for quick inflate/deflate during tests.

The Large Multi-Size plugs are made with polyester cord REINFORCED NATURAL RUBBER, which makes their wide sealing range possible. These multi-size plugs will work in all types of pipe and have a WIDE EXPANSION RANGE. Therefore you can have fewer plugs on hand to work in many different sizes of pipe.
The Muni-Ball® plugs are fitted with four steel eyebolts, (two on each end); the Test-Ball® plugs have two eyebolts. These plugs can be tethered with a poly-lift line for raising and lowering into place. The 15-30" and 24-42" Cherne pneumatic large plugs are designed to FIT THROUGH 24" MANHOLES; the 40-60" is designed to fit through 30" manholes. These plugs also are BENDABLE TO 90 DEGREES simply by removing the inflator valve.
Test-Ball plugs are ideal for blocking flow in a pipeline; Muni-Ball plugs can also be used for blocking flow in addition to by-passing sewer flow and sewer air testing. The by-pass connection allows for continuous flow while pipeline repairs are being made. |
